1990

Hal and Sue Brownfield started Andrew Pearson Design in Troy, Michigan in 1990. By concentrating on items that other glass fabricators and other furniture manufacturers could not easily do - bonding, extra heavy glass, custom orders, and Starphire glass, Andrew Pearson Design quickly gained a reputation for impeccable quality and tremendous flexibility

1994

In 1994, Andrew Pearson Design moved to its present location in Mt. Airy, NC. The move was made so that Andrew Pearson Design would be closer to the furniture manufacturers, thereby making it easier to get new products into the market place.  During the next five years, Andrew Pearson Design continued to grow at a rapid pace.

1997

In 1997, Andrew Pearson Design purchased a showroom in High Point in a premier location.  This allowed the company to showcase their innovative prodcts and offer flexibility to their customers.

1999

In March of 1999, Andrew Pearson Design acquired MET Collection for the Home, a contemporary furniture line. The acquisition created dynamic synergy as both Andrew Pearson Design and MET Collection compliment each other and share several of the same customers.

During the summer months, Andrew Pearson Design built an expansion that doubled the size of the plant. The plant expansion allowed the addition of new machinery, which paved the way for Andrew Pearson Design to continue being the most technologically advanced glass fabricator in North America.

Ongoing

  • Cutting
Andrew Pearson Design's commitment to technology is evident in everything passing through our facility. Each piece of glass is cut on a CNC cutting table that ensures each piece is symmetrical.

  • Edging
After cutting, the glass then goes to an Intermac machine. An Intermac is the most sophisticated and precise piece of edging quipment in the glass industry. It is a computer-controlled machine that is invaluable for high quality, custom shapes, insets, quantity runs, fancy edges and on-going orders. The Intermac machine saves each top in their respective memory bank, which allows us to run a tabletop for a customer and then reproduce an exact match at a later date.

  • Customization
Andrew Pearson Design also utilizes a computer system that does customized sandblasting, such as corporate logos and a digitizer that traces patterns.

The digitizer is linked to the cutting table, which means that the computerized version of a pattern can be sent directly to the cutting table and then trasferred to the Intermac machine.

Most recently, Andrew Pearson Design introduced colored glass and decorative mirrors at the International Home Furnishings Market. This is a project that has been under development for nearly two years. The colored glass and mirrors were well received by retailers and other manufacturers.

These programs are in addition to our on-going innovative and new product development.

Andrew Pearson recently introduced our Quick Ship Program to provide retailers with fast delivery on popular items.  On itmes such as the Uptown, Medley and Shadow Collections, products are ready to ship within five working days.

In addition we support our dealers with inside customer service, sales materials, and field representatives to ensure that all matters are handled in a timely fashion.
